Optima Kids is offered to simply assist your needs as productive and convenient as possible for both you and your children. Our awesome facility offers a varied and stimulated program for all children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Our professional staff members are more than happy to assist with any queries and suggestions you may have. All members and non-members need to abide by the Optima Kids Terms and Conditions of use as listed below.
CHILD CARE AGE LIMITS: Child care is available for children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.
OPTIMA KIDS OPENING HOURS: Creche Sessions Child care operates Monday-Friday and is run in two sessions on Wednesdays & Fridays Monday: 9:10am - 11:00am Tuesday: 9:10am - 11:00am Wednesday: 9:10am - 10:30am & 10:35am - 12:00pm Thursday: 9:10am - 11:00am Friday: 9:10am - 10:30am & 10:35am - 12:00pm Session times must be strictly adhered to. Parents failing to collect children before 10.30am for the first session will be charged an additional fee for the second session. There is no child care available on Public Holidays.
Occasional Care Sessions We run five hour Occasional Care sessions on Monday and Wednesdays from 9:10am until 2:10pm. Term bookings preferred however you can book weekly on a need / casual basis. You must book in for Occasional Care Sessions and confirm availability with creche manager (Amber) to ensure we have spots available. You can call creche on our direct number 5911 7147 during creche hours only. $50 casual price, discounts for term bookings. Term 2 Bookings Now Available!
REGISTERING: A child care enrolment form must be completed prior to the first visit. (These are available at reception or in the crèche) Parents must sign the daily child care register upon arrival – and then sign out on leaving. Parents must be easily contactable whilst their child is in care. Please ensure that the crèche has up to date contact details at all times.
BOOKINGS: Bookings can only be made via our online booking system. Limit of one booking per day. Limit of 4 active bookings (including wait-list) at any one time. Once a booking has been used or cancelled, then another booking can be immediately added. Bookings can be made 1 week in advance. Payment is required at the time of booking. Management reserves the right to alter bookings when required. Bookings essential – No Booking – No Use.
IMPORTANT NOTE Please make sure that you book your children into the correct age group for the session. If this is not done correctly it may result in you being turned away on arrival.
CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations will be accepted up until 7.00pm the night before your booking. After this time you will be charged for your booking. Changing to 24hrs notice in 2020. *If we replace your booking after the cut off than you are not charged.
Should less than 5 children be booked in for either session by 7.00pm the night before, child care will be cancelled for that session. You will be contacted.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE POLICY: All children must be signed in and out by a parent or the person on the child’s enrolment form. The child must also be collected by the same parent. If the child is going home with another parent, that parent must be listed on the child’s enrolment form as an emergency person and this must be discussed with the staff at the crèche beforehand. ID must also be produced to ensure the children are going home with a person listed on the form.
STAFF: It is of great importance to the management of Optima Health and Fitness that staff is adequately qualified to run the Optima Kids child care service and provide for your child a safe and stimulating environment. Staff ratios are as stated in the Children’s Safety Regulations 2009. All Optima Health and Fitness Staff have current police checks, working with children checks, first aid certificates and are trained in Anaphylaxis and Asthma.
ILLNESS: Children who are ill may not be left in child care area. If, in the opinion of our carers, your child is unwell, you will be asked to collect your child. In the case of infectious illness such as chicken pox, measles, mumps etcetera, or for conditions such as head lice, impetigo (school sores) and such, children will not be permitted entry to the child care until such time as the condition is completely cleared and the risk of transmitting infection to others is gone. For the purposes of this definition we consider green or yellow mucus to be highly contagious should your child contract such an illness or condition, please notify staff so that we may alert other child care users. If your child is too sick for school they are to sick for Optima Kids. Allergies – please inform staff if your child has any allergies. Optima Kids is strictly a nut free zone.
MEDICINES: Any medication required, should be administered prior to your visit, or you must attend to this yourself. The only medication that will be administered is an Epi-Pen or an Ana-Pen in the case of an anaphylactic reaction.
CONFIDENTIALITY: Optima Health and Fitness (Optima Kids) will ensure that the information in your children’s records will not be divulged to another person unless necessary for the care or education of the child or to manage medical treatment of your child.
BEHAVIOUR POLICY: All children need a safe and secure environment, and positive interaction with adults and other children to develop into competent individuals. Our staff is committed to ensuring that the children will experience consistent and positive approaches to behaviour guidance. If any child displays ongoing unacceptable behaviour, staff members will be discussing the matter with the parents/guardians and if behaviour guidance strategies have not been successful we will need to establish a plan of action (Such as seeking further guidance from advisors, professionals or other appropriate sources of assistance).
NON COMPLIANCE: Management reserves the right to refuse access to the child care area. The right may be exercised in the event of non-compliance with any of the child care regulations as outlined in this document. Should this situation arise, membership and child care fees will not be refunded in any part. Specifically if there are any required medications that are able to be prescribed by staff but are not present in the centre access will not be given.
COMPLAINTS: All complaints regarding our child care facility are to be directed to the Centre Manager during business hours. Any complaints about risk or health, safety or wellbeing of a child, or about a breach of the Act or regulations can be directed to the department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
OPERATING HOURS: Child care operating hours and rates may be subject to change from time to time, to comply with the changing requirements of the centre.
FOOD/DRINKS: Whilst staff are more than happy to feed your child his/her bottle or snack, please ensure that food is prepared and ready and bottles are pre-heated to the correct temperature. A microwave oven is available in the child care room for your convenience. At Optima Kids we like to promote healthy eating therefore we only allow fruit or vegetables to be brought as a snack. A sandwich is allowed for session two only (no peanut butter or Nutella). No packaged food is allowed as they often contain traces of nuts. No nuts of any shape or form please. Please clearly label your children’s name on all water bottles, milk bottles, dummies/pacifiers food containers, lunch boxes, backpacks, nappy bags and clothing items.
EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURES: All staff at Optima Kids are familiar with the emergency evacuation procedure. The evacuation procedure is located on the front door and the full Emergency Management Plan is also available for parents to view. In the event of an evacuation to a safe place each child will be accounted for by using the sign-in sheets. It is absolutely essential that you sign your child in and out of each session correctly each day. A detailed list of your contact numbers and your emergency contact numbers are in our evacuation kit so we will be able to contact you to collect your children.

At Optima Kids we believe that all children have a right to a loving, caring and well maintained environment that recognises the developmental level of each child and provides quality experiences to enhance their growth and development. We are committed to providing a developmentally appropriate program incorporating six areas of development; social, emotional, cognitive, language, fine and gross motor. We believe our philosophy and our curriculum provides the foundations for future learning. The curriculum is planned appropriately for the age span of the children with the group and is implemented with the attention to the different needs, interests and developmental levels of each child.

HOW TO BOOK: 1. Login 2. Select age group (Under 3 years or Over 3 years) 3. Click the date and session you would like to book your child/children into. 4. Type your child’s/children name and age into the available fields (you can book up to 3 children in each age group per session). 5. You will be sent an email confirmation of your booking.
HOW TO PAY ONLINE 1. Click Pay Now Button on Optima Kids Website 2. Choose Creche or Occasional Care option 3. Fill out form and pay online 4. You will receive a confirmation email once confirmed. PLEASE NOTE - You will still need to book your child in for selected sessions required. The confirmation email will have a link if needed.
